FIXAR supports Team Latvia at the European Championships
From August 15 – 20, 2026, Team Latvia competed at the 2026 FAI European Championships for Space Models at Kruszyn Airfield in Włocławek, Poland. The championship brought together athletes from 17 countries competing across eight model classes, with FIXAR supporting the team’s preparation and participation.
The national team included athletes from Daugavpils pilsētas Bērnu un jauniešu centrs “Jaunība” and Rīgas Tehniskās jaunrades nams “Annas 2.”
The senior team delivered a strong performance in the S8P radio-controlled rocket glider class, finishing second in the team standings and earning a place on the European podium.
A strong result for Latvia
Among the junior competitors, Sergejs Maļeckis, representing BJC “Jaunība,” finished 8th out of 31 participants in the S4A class. The result was particularly notable as this was his first competition at this level.
The championship concluded with results worth celebrating: second place in the S8P senior team standings and a top-10 finish in the S4A junior standings.
Behind every result is a team
The athletes were guided by team leaders Arkādijs Žarinovs and Ilmārs Breidaks, whose experience, professionalism, and dedicated preparation played an important role throughout the championship.
FIXAR contributed to the team’s preparation and provided financial support for its participation in the competition. With FIXAR’s R&D team based in Latvia, supporting local talent with a shared passion for flight made this partnership especially meaningful.
Proudly representing Latvia
During the opening ceremony, the delegation also presented small souvenirs prepared by BJC “Jaunība” together with FIXAR to representatives of other participating teams – a simple way to share a piece of home with the international space modeling community.
